IE7 fails to connect after Windows update adds Augusts 14th update
My Symmatec and Windows Defenders said my computer is running healthy. Unfortunately, IE is the default browser for my company. I cannot switch to Firefox. I am getting very frustrated. I am stop short of uninstalling IE 7. But you know sometimes the Microsoft uninstalling might not work. Any help???

I then turned off the setting in IE7 that checks to see if it is the default browser. Next I deleted the *.html and *.htm file types. After that I recreated the *.html and *.htm file types manually and entered the settings I recorded earlier. I was then able to assign the correct icon to both file types.
